The “Perfect Scissors”

Over the last couple of years, I have used a pair of serrated scissors to cut out all my small applique pieces.  Serrated scissors grab the fabric and pull it in towards the blade instead of pushing it away from the blade as regular scissors do.

Several months ago, I became aware that Karen Kay Buckley, a fabulous applique quilt teacher/designer, had come out with a new scissors.  They come in two sizes, 4 inch and 7 1/2 inch.

I ordered a pair of each size and they are just fabulous!

The handle opening is extra-large and cushioned which is great for my arthritic hands.  They also have the sharpest points for getting into the corners and making cutting curves so easy.

You can go to Karen’s store or ask your local quilt shop to order you a pair.

I am not associated with Karen Kay Buckley, although I have taken several classes from her.  I am just a happy owner of these scissors.
